I shared a little snap of a corner of the house on Instagram earlier this week. I mentioned changing the paint color in the caption and received hundreds of suggestions on what color to paint the walls! If you are looking for recommendations of a cream, white, gray, or taupe-gray color, find this photo on my Instagram feed and read through the comments!

More than anything I’m looking to eliminate the yellow tones of the current wall color. I don’t want to do gray as I’m a little tired of all the gray on the walls. I came from a house that was primarily painted “Amazing Gray” by Sherwin Williams, which is a beautiful gray, but I’m looking to stay in more of the creams, cool-toned taupes, and earthy tones in this house. The house feels very southern so I’m trying to stick with choices that fit the existing design and feel.

We painted Justin’s office NYPD blue in the last house, and I LOVED that color so much. There is a formal sitting room currently painted green at this house that he’s considering taking as his office and I may very well paint it the same color since I loved it so much.

June + July Beauty Favorites

It’s been whirlwind month or so and I’m glad that my life is starting to resume a bit of a routine again. June and July have been filled to the brim with wonderful, exciting things but I’m weary from everything happening at once!

I didn’t try a ton of new products over the last 45 days or so, but I do have a few favorites that I wanted to mention!

You may know that I’m a big fan of the Bite Agave Lip Mask so I was very hesitant to try something new and sacrifice a few nights’ sleep with something that wasn’t as good on my lips! As it turns out, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is wonderful and is a bit of a lighter consistency than the Bite product.

I also had high hopes for the brow pencil and it lived up to the hype!

Products mentioned:

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist

Amika Got Grit (Check this post to see a demo on how to use it!)

I love an exfoliator. As someone with dry, dehydrated skin that is prone to lots of flaking, an exfoliator is a product that I use at least twice if not three times a week.

There are varying degrees of exfoliators, from liquid-based acids all the way to thicker, grittier products. I’ve found that the grittier products work and feel the best for my skin and I’m sharing a few favorites below!

Ole Henricksen Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub. I love that this warms up in your fingertips and then feels warm on your skin while it works. It has a decent amount of grit, but nothing too rough for sensitive skin.

Ole Henricksen Transforming Walnut Scrub. This is the strongest, grittiest of the bunch. It’s great on days that you wore a heavy foundation or heavy sunscreen because it truly sloughs off all the extra dead skin.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash. This is the most gentle of the bunch but still has a little bit of texture to help lift off dry areas of skin. I love Fresh products and this new launch was a success in my opinion!

Do you exfoliate regularly? It’s a good routine to get into if you aren’t doing that already because it will ensure that the products you are using are penetrating past the dead skin, as well as make your skin glow!
